June 10 – This past Saturday we took to Ferncroft Country Club in Middleton, MA to host our 2nd Annual Bourque Family Foundation 7.7K Road Race. This year we were thrilled to welcome nearly 500 runners and walkers to our Annual Road Race to benefit the Foundation and those we help provide assistance to. Since 2017, the Bourque Family Foundation has had the opportunity to donate to the ALS Association Pete Frates Home Health Initiative, the Matthew H. Weatherbee Irrevocable Trust, Melmark New England, The Jimmy Fund and the National Brain Tumor Society among many others.
We were blessed with a beautiful day of weather for our racers and for the celebration that followed. We were honored to have John Horrigan, host of the Boston Bruins Alumni TV, emcee the event for the second year. Todd Angilly, this year’s anthem singer for the Boston Bruins, treated our racers to a rendition of our National Anthem to kick off the race. In addition, we were able to add the Mites Fun Run to our event this year, making it fun for the whole family!
As racers crossed the finish line, each was presented with a metal and the chance to redeem a coupon for a free beer from Lord Hobo Brewing Company. The post-race party also featured live music, beverages, ice cream, meet-and-greets with Ray and a raffle with all proceeds benefiting the Foundation. With the ideal location, we celebrated post-race party where racers, family and friends could come together and enjoy the beautiful day.
